Twenty-four candidates for ordination and three candidates for deacons were ordained on Friday, March 29, 2025, by General Superintendent Scott Daniels in a service held in Colombia.

Ordination services in Venezuela have not been held for several years due to the country's political situation. Last month’s special service was made possible thanks to the five superintendents from Venezuela — Rafael Trejo, Jairo Ceballos, Allan Díaz, Alí Alvarez, and Luis Monsalve — and North Andean Field Strategy Coordinator Juan Carlos Soto in the city of Cúcuta, Colombia (near the Venezuelan border). All candidates for ordination from Venezuela (27 in total) crossed the border to be present at the service.

Most candidates and superintendents traveled long hours to reach the border and cross it by land.

During the service, a video showed the latest achievements of the Church of the Nazarene in Venezuela, highlighting that in the last three years, 44 new churches have been planted and 27 Church-Type Missions have been organized.

The ordained ministers correspond to the five districts of Venezuela as follows:

  • Venezuela Andino District: 7 new ministers.
  • Venezuela Centro District: 1 new minister.
  • Venezuela Lago District: 4 new ministers and 2 new deacons.
  • Venezuela Llanos District: 2 new ministers.
  • Venezuela First District: 10 new ministers and 1 new deaconess.
